I hope you’ve had a great time on your travels. Yes - my book is finished for the time being. Now out with a small group of readers who I know will give me very constructive feedback ie more work! Although looming, I hope your deadline is a pleasant one.

And a big yes to Dorothea Brandt. I think it was Alan Sillitoe who used to sing her praises. It was the first book I read about technique. I’m just backtracking to where I left off to begin my major catch up. Sorry - just been really busy editing! And dog walking! And Christmas! And trying to find the things I keep losing! And going to The Brutalist — that took about three months…

Enjoying this, Gillian. That's so heartwarming to know your future husband rejected you (warmly) for a job, and that was how you became friends!

Theatre In Education was such a big thing back then, wasn't it? My sister did it for a while after graduating with a Drama degree.
