Gillian, what a horrible experience. You just have been devastated at the time. I look forward to reading the next instalment. Btw, my family were living in Vauxhall at the time of the Silver Jubilee. Not far from Brixton. I have very vague memories, waving as the Queen drove past!
I know Vauxhall very well - I was there yesterday in fact, changing from the tube to the overground to see family in Putney. Plus, my choir is in Vauxhall, so I travel there every week. The Victoria Line has become my very good (though very noisy) friend.
The Silver Jubilee - such a long time ago. And the silver buses! They were so rare my husband- who’s always been a bit of a bus nerd - never saw one. They just happened to be a regular thing on my route into town!
Yep, that day at the BBC was pretty horrible. Still don’t understand why the guy didn’t just send me the usual note - thanks but not for us.

Hope you’re having a great weekend.
What a cliffhanger!
