THIS WRITER’S JOURNEY by Gillian Richmond
Hello, and thanks for visiting my page.
I live in the UK, mostly in London. I’m married, with a grown-up family and two beautiful small grandchildren. I share my day-to-day life with my husband and our Border Terrier, called Freddie.
I’ve been fortunate enough to spend more than half my life being paid to write drama of one kind or another. I’ve written several plays for stage and for radio, including my breakthrough play The Last Waltz, and hundreds of scripts for British TV and radio series: EastEnders, The Archers, Casualty, Holby City, Heartbeat, Silent Witness and others. Along the way I’ve been lucky enough to win an award or two. This one for example.
In my working life I’ve made up a lot of stories and have accumulated a lot of stories.
Between autumn 2024 and spring 2025 I published the circuitous story of how I came to be a performed playwright and screenwriter.
I’m currently on a break, but will be back soon with another story.
